The following overview of the ISCMNS is based on the Society’s self description on its website at https://iscmns.org/.
The International Society for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ISCMNS) was founded in about 2004, mainly on the initiative of the late Dr. William Collis. For many years Dr. Collis successfully ran the society’s core functions, which included workshop meetings, newsletters and continuous outreach and connection programmes for the benefit of isolated researchers. After his unexpected death in 2023, it has taken time to regain access to the ISCMNS domain and more, but with the generous help of Anthropocene Institute we are rebuilding this site in a flexible modern style.
We are proud to announce that we are now mutually affiliated with both the Société Française de la Science Nucléaire dans la Matière Condensée (SFSNMC) and a very active society in Japan (JCFS). Collectively we are heading towards 500 members worldwide. A major recent event was the ‘Bill Collis Memorial Workshop’, which was held in September 2024 in Strasbourg, France.
